Current Reading September 2012

Posted: September 26, 2012 in Books

Currently I am Reading:

A Dance with Dragons by George R.R. Martin

This will get me caught up with the rest of those waiting for Winter…and the next book.  Apparently Winter has arrived and iced this book over,  I just can’t get inspired to finish it up after getting about 1/2 way through.

The Last of the Mohicans by James Fenimore Cooper

A re-read of a book  I read as a teen.  Now I understand Sam Clemons comments on Cooper’s work.  Still a good read, just not the adventure I remembered from my youth.  Free on the Kindle.

What I’ve finished Reading:

 Books read 2012:  15

August 2012 Wrap-up

Posted: September 2, 2012 in Monthly Wrap-ups

Miniatures Stats August 2012:

Bought for Month:     0  +  (194 already painted)  For 2012:     4

Painted for Month:    0                                                 For 2012:     10

Alas August I hardly knew ya.  Hobby time I saw even less of.  I did work  a small bit on several ships and a Flames of War  units, but nothing that I can call complete.

I also bought some French Napoleonics already painted from GAJO Miniatures:  96 15mm French Ligne, 96 15mm French Legere, and 2 15mm mounted French Generals–the contents of two battalion packs.  They are mostly based at this point, just need a couple of repairs and touch ups to have them ready to seal.  I didn’t take a hit to my pledge since they’re already painted.

Painting Pledge progress (one 25mm equivalent/week) at 35 weeks into the year with 10 minis done leaves me at -25 for the year to fall into September.
