This is my take on the Twenty Questions that Ray and Fran ran over on their blogs:  http://onelover-ray.blogspot.co.uk/ and http://theangrylurker.blogspot.co.uk/
1.        Favourite Wargaming period and why?
Napoleonic Era both land and naval.  Land for the intriguing combination of infantry, horse, and artillery plus the  pageantry of the uniforms look great on the table.  Naval because I’ve always been fascinated by the tall ships and great guns.

                         SYW, big battions, Minden figs

12.   If your life were a movie, who would play you?
John McGinley, simply because I’ve been told that I look a bit like him.
13.   Favourite Comic  Superhero?
                        Captain America
14.   Favourite Military quote?
” It is well that war is so terrible, otherwise we should grow too fond of it.”  Robert E. Lee

19.   Favourite Wargaming Moment?
Too many to pick out one.  Good friends, good times, and good games  it’s what moves this hobby just being scale   modeling.

Folks who go out of their way to make some else’s experience miserable, both in life and gaming.

The Jungle  by Upton Sinclair

Another great of literature free on the Kindle.

What I’ve finished Reading:

1809 Thunder on the Danube: Napoleon’s Defeat of the Habsburgs  Volume III: Wagram and Znaim by John H. Gill

Finished this excellent final volume of the 1809 campaign.  The three volumes are well worth getting and reading if you have anything more than a passing interest in this campaign.  I’ll be keeping them in my library for future reference.

Fool Moon (The Dresden Files, book 2)  by Jim Butcher

Picked this up on my Kindle for some on the go reading.  I enjoyed the first book, the second was just as good.

The Man Who Would Be King by Rudyard Kipling

Yet another from the Kindle Free Library.  Excellent classic short story, that I’ve always wanted to read.

July 2012 Wrap-up

Posted: August 1, 2012 in Monthly Wrap-ups

Miniatures Stats July 2012:

Bought for Month:     0                                                 For 2012:     4

Painted for Month:    0                                                 For 2012:     10

A close but no cigar month.  I was tantalizingly close to finishing 4 more ships, but the eyes were just too tired after a long day at work.  I ended July with another zero in the books.  It does set me up for  a good showing next month as I’m closing in on finishing about 10 15mm vehicles as well as the ships.  Time will tell the tale.

Painting Pledge progress (one 25mm equivalent/week) at 30 weeks into the year with 10 minis done leaves me at -20 for the year to move into August.
